That's what I was getting at, jesus - they are the same software as Armory Crate is the updated version that now houses Aura Sync within it, Aura Sync itself doesn't exist as a download anymore (not officially from ASUS that is). It works as the Armory Crate version not Aura Sync. Also, why bother saying it works for you then go on to say it's explicitly didn't, then further talk about how the completely different application works?ġ - I never said it was good software. Just because it worked for you doesn't mean its good software. You can join the discussion on Corsair bringing ASUS Aura Sync motherboard support to its iCUE software on the OC3D Forums. Inter-compatibility matters, and we hope that other manufacturers will follow Corsair's lead by working to make multi-manufacturer RGB lighting setups easier to control on PC. This release of iCUE represents a major step forward for Corsair and acts as a call to action for all other creators of RGB lighting software. It looks like Corsair's iCUE software uses some of the files within ASUS' Aura Sync installation folder to control compatible motherboards.ĪSUS' Aura Sync software can be downloaded here, and Corsair's iCUE software can be downloaded here. ASUS' Aura Sync software needs to be installed, but it doesn't need to be running to allow iCUE to control ASUS' hardware. Through iCUE, PC gamer can now control the RGB lighting of DRAM, CPU Cooler, Fans, Keyboards, Mice, headsets, LED strips and now, ASUS motherboards.Ĭorsair iCUE version 3.26 and ASUS Aura Sync Utility version 1.07.79, or newer, are required to bring ASUS motherboard support to iCUE. Corsair has claimed that its iCUE " ecosystem is now expanding to include 3rd party components, starting with ASUS Aura Sync-compatible motherboards." This implies that other motherboard manufacturers are to follow. Moving forward, it looks like Corsair plans to support the RGB lighting setups of other motherboard manufacturers. Better still, iCUE also supports 12V RGB LED strips which are connected to ASUS' RGB motherboards, though this support does not extend to 5V RGB LED strips at this time. Sadly, this support doesn't extend to graphics cards, but it allows iCUE users to integrate their motherboard's lighting into their iCUE setup. This support requires ASUS Aura Sync to be installed, but the software doesn't need to be running for iCUE to deliver Aura Sync support. With the latest release of Corsair's iCUE software, support for ASUS' RGB compatible motherboards is now available, allowing users of ASUS and Corsair hardware to control their RGB lighting setup from a single application. For too long, RGB software has clashed and fought for dominance within the consumer PC market, and now, two industry giants have started to deliver inter-compatibility. To add to the weirdness, it seems that Bioshock also affects the color scheme configure in my Logitech G560 because after a while playing, the rear leds just went off.įorget that wall of text!.Corsair and ASUS have teamed up to bring Aura Sync into the iCUE software ecosystem. The only way to solve that situation is closing iCUE, restart the lightingservice service and launch iCUE again. if i launch Bioshock Remastered, the profile assigned to the game switch without problems, but if i close the game, everything fall back to the default profile EXCEPT for the Asus hardware, who stays in the Bioshock Remastered Profile color scheme. If i launch for example BF4, everything works as intended: When the game launch, every single hardware manage by iCUE change to the respective color scheme configure in the profile for the game and if i close it, everything falls back to the default profile with the correspondent color scheme.īUT. so after removing the Aura software and install Armory Crate everything seems the same with the weird lock on into last profile but i just find out that the main culprit of that is Bioshock Remastered!. because right now i just have installed the Asus Aura App (ver 1.07.22) and used to work flawlessly but in the last 2 updates, i have been experience weird situations were the lightingservice seems to crash and lock in the color of the last profile used. Question Here: is armory crate from ASUS really requires?.
